Cancellation Policy

1. Flexible Changes and Cancellations (Standard Rate)

At GG Hostel we understand that plans can change. Therefore, we offer the possibility to modify or cancel your reservation at no cost up to 7 days before the check-in date.

  • To avoid charges, you must request the change or cancellation at least 8 days before your arrival.
  • Requests made within 7 days prior to check-in will be subject to the full amount of the stay, with no right to a refund.

Example: if your check-in is on August 10, you can cancel or modify at no cost until August 2 at 11:59 PM (local time).

2. Non-Refundable Bookings

If you choose a Non-Refundable rate, this option offers you a special discount on the base rate, but implies stricter conditions:

  • No changes or cancellations are allowed under any circumstances.
  • In case of no-show, 100% of the booking amount will be charged.
  • No refunds will be made in any case, including cancellations for personal reasons, delays, or unforeseen events.

3. Force Majeure Cancellations

At GG Hostel we apply a Force Majeure Cancellation Policy to protect both our guests and the accommodation in truly exceptional cases. These situations ("Extraordinary Circumstances") must be unpredictable, unavoidable, and beyond the control of the parties, and must reasonably prevent or prohibit the fulfillment of the reservation.

Covered Situations

  • Officially recognized health emergencies and epidemics: Epidemics, pandemics, or public health emergencies declared by competent authorities. Endemic or foreseeable diseases are not included, nor are cases related to COVID-19.
  • Official travel restrictions: Government orders preventing access to or exit from the destination (e.g., mandatory lockdowns or evacuations). Non-binding travel recommendations or advisories are not included.
  • Conflicts and hostilities: Acts of war, terrorism, invasion, riots, insurrections, or civil unrest situations directly affecting the area where the accommodation is located.
  • Serious disruptions to essential services: Extended power, water, or heating outages affecting a significant part of the area and making the stay impossible.
  • Natural disasters and extreme weather events: Earthquakes, tsunamis, fires, floods, or severe storms directly affecting the accommodation or access to it.

Situations Not Covered

Not all circumstances are considered Force Majeure. For example, this policy will not apply in the following cases:

  • Personal or health problems not declared as a public emergency.
  • Individual injuries or illnesses.
  • Judicial or administrative obligations (for example, being summoned as a juror or witness).
  • Cancellation or change of date of an event you were going to attend.
  • Transportation disruptions (flight cancellations, strikes, road closures, etc.) that do not prevent general access to Barcelona.
  • Non-binding travel recommendations or advisories.

In these cases, the standard cancellation policy corresponding to your type of booking will apply.
